I Love Rachel Maddow.

Make sure you watch this... and make sure you watch Rachel every night... because she says DUDE in her interviews.  Below is her interview with this awful man who claims he can help homosexuals "come out straight".  His "facts" are being used to promote to Ugandan "Kill the Gays" Bill... a Bill that will likely become law.

So this is the stuff that keeps me up at night.  The world is sort of effed up.

God this stuff makes me so angry... as a former Christian it really irks me now to hear of people speak about homo/bisexual people are requiring healing, purification. To be perfectly honest I think it's anyone who thinks like this, that is in need of healing. And the situation in Uganda is such a farce. I say thank God for people like Ms. Maddow who have the steel ovaries to call these idiots out on their "spiritual" fallacies!

All you have to do to have "steel ovaries" enough to call people out on stuff like this is to do it. Write it in your blog, stick it on your car's bumper.

Becoming an activist requires not a lot in the beginning. Then you get drawn in, and you're willing to do just about anything. My activism was for animal welfare, against extinction -- and we made much more of a difference than we'd ever expected to!

Check out existing organizations that fight for something you care about, promise them a set hours of volunteering a week (or a month), and do your research on those orgs. Choose to work for those that funnel the $$ toward solving the problem more than giving out big paychecks & bonuses. It gives you a GREAT feeling....in later years, you can have a peaceful heart, because, "I helped do that!" even if it's just one small thing. The Great Wall of China is built of small units, but you can see it from space.......
